We're buying a townhouse!
The counter-offer was more than reasonable so we accepted it -- we're buying a townhouse!

The only thing that Benjamin and I don't absolutely love about this unit is the outside color. It appears that Gargamel finally got the upper hand and made a line of paint. Yes, the condos are Smurf blue. Luckily the units around it aren't so you can't see the color from the inside :)

Check out realtor-provided pictures at 8351e29th.com.

The plan is to close on February 15th, lease back the unit to the current owners until March 31st, and take possession of it on April 1st. The lease-back helps the current owners who are in the process of building another home and gets us closer to the end of our lease at the lofts on April 14th.

This unit is vastly different from the unit we first started looking at but has the benefit of much more square footage, much nicer finishes, and a better possible resale value while only being slightly more expensive.

Townhouse looks nice! McStain's a good local builder, I've heard. Congrats! When's the housewarming?

Looks like it's built on the old Stapleton airport grounds, on the south end. I don't know much about that neighborhood since it's new development.

Most of our friends in Denver live in Stapleton (fondly known as Gaypleton no less) so we're pretty familiar with the area. In addition to being close to all of our friends it has the bonus of being only 1 mile from Johnson & Wales which will drastically cut down Benjamin's commute.

Odds are pretty good that the house warming won't be until June or July at a guess -- watch your inbox. Now you and Cory have another place to stay when you come back up this way! :)

That makes it even better then! A nice brisk 15 minute walk for Benjamin instead of waiting for a bus on a cold February morning. :)

That's true, we'll have to head up there sometime. :)

Anyhow, I was thinking about Gargamel's smurf paint line and recalled this video:

Might be worth a laugh :)

It's beautiful! LOOOOVE the interior.

And the color isn't that bad -- it looks very New Englandish with the gray-blue. :-)

Cheers,
Jonobie

Wow!

That is absolutely stunning. I agree with Jenobie, the outside color isn't that bad. Congratulations, Casey and Benjamin. That is just fantastic.

Cara.

Fantastic! Like everyone else, I'm drooling over your layout...especially your kitchen. While I love my new kitchen, I do wish I had an island like the one you have. Congrats to you guys!
